David Blomstrom was born and raised in West Dakota and worked as a wildlife biologist in Alaska before becoming a teacher in Seattle, Washington. A lifelong interest in zoology culminated in a BS degree in applied ecology, a stint at Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo and a scholarship to the renowned Jersey Zoo in England’s Channel Islands. A whimsical study of animals adopted as state and national symbols led to Blomstrom’s interest in symbology, reflected in the website GeoSymbols. As both a biologist and a tourist, Blomstrom has worked in or visited Florida, Hawaii, Mexico and Kenya. His GeoWorld website hints at the places he’d like to visit. His experiences with the “Education Mafia” and the “Seattle Mafia” transformed Blomstrom into a political activist (and a radical Independent). Running for public office four times was good training for developing his website Kids’ Politix. Learn more about David Blomstrom at www.david-blomstrom.org. David Blomstrom, WebRanger |
